OSHA Celebrates Reduced Injuries in St. Louis Steel Plant

Acknowledged in the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program in April.

To highlight their Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published a news release through the Department of Labor last month. In 2016, the steel manufacturing plant St. Louis Cold Drawn Inc. began working with OSHA’s consultation program to reduce the number of recordable injuries their workers accrued. The training and preventative measures they implemented helped their steel plant gain SHARP status in 2020, and the plant is eligible again for the program in 2022.

“The Missouri On-Site Consultation Program helped St. Louis Cold Drawn understand that OSHA works cooperatively with businesses who voluntarily implement programs to ensure the workers’ safety and health,” said Steven Kaplan, the Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Acting Regional Administrator in Kansas City, Missouri.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • With gratitude for the increased safety of steelworkers at the St. Louis plant.
  • For OSHA officials as they work to ensure national safety standards are met.
  • For Secretary Marty Walsh to seek God’s wisdom as he oversees the Labor Department.
